Repackaging Lush Deodorant

As much as I love my crystal deodorant, it hasn't help up under the summer sun. I went to Lush for some natural deodorant in paper packaging, but didn't love that I hold the chunk of deodorant and get it on my hands, so I wondered if melting it down in a bain maire and pouring it in an old deodorant tube would work, or if it would somehow change the formula. It works just the same, though the surface of the deodorant is much harder after it solidifies, but after using it a few times, it feels just the same.

The original product:

To melt quickly (heat ruins essential oils so I wanted to be fast), I cut up the bar.

To melt it down, I boiled a pot of water and put my deodorant into a measuring cup, stirring to evenly melt it. Be sure to keep water out - it could shorten the shelf life.

Once melted, I poured it into my old, cleaned out deodorant tube (twisted all the way down). I stuck it in the fridge to harden. It twists up and down, just like normal!
