DIY Foaming Hand Soap

I'm officially in love with castile soap. It has so many uses and because the bottle is made from 100% recycled materials, I don't count it was waste. The latest item castile soap has replaced in my home and heart is hand soap!

I love foaming hand soap: it's way more fun and it always squirts out exactly enough soap, whereas with normal liquid soap, I feel like I count wash at least a second pair of hands!

There's many ways to make foaming hand soap with castile soap, but you should always dilute it with something or the spout could clog after a while. Many people use coconut oil or olive oil, but I prefer to use rose water with glycerin (which I also spritz on my face before applying my usual moisturizer!).

1 cup water
2 tbsp castile soap
1 tbsp rose water with glycerin
a few drops of essential oils

Always add water first, otherwise the soap will bubble up and make it difficult to pour in all of the other ingredients. Shake to mix.

The foam is a tad thinner than traditional foaming handsoap, but that doesn't bother me. It's very gentle on skin, but still leaves your hands feeling clean without any "lotion-y" residue. My only complaint is that every few days it has to be shaken to keep it from separating.
